About Us

Ni Ketut Tirta originates from Bali where she was born in Kalibukbuk village (Lovina) in northern Bali. She started to learn Balinese dance when she was six years old. She first learned to dance with her mother and later she continued to study at Sanggar Werdhi Komala for 4 years under Ibu Sri Wati. She also studied at Sanggar Warringin for 2 years under Mbak Luh Sayuni, and at the Saraswati School for 4 years under Bapak Nyoman Kartina. In 1995, Ni Ketut started to teach Balinese dance at Sanggar Asri Bali at the community center in Lovina. She also taught private lessons and at the Spice Dive School in Lovina.

She has performed Balinese dance at public and private events as a member of Sanggar Asri Bali, Janji Wisata Bali and with her family in Lovina. Her brother and sister have studied Balinese dance at S.T.S.I. in Denpasar. Ni Ketut has performed for more than 15 years at weddings, Hindu temples and for tourists. She has danced at many hotel and restaurant in northern Bali, including the Rambutan Hotel, Sol Lovina, Aditya, Suma, Puri Bagus at Pemaron, Puri Bagus at Pemuteran, Café Lumbung, Melka and the Matahari in Pulaki. In 2004, she married Maxwell Su and came to U.S.A. Currently, Ni Ketut resides in Barrington, Rhode Island.
